💧 Watermark PDF

MonkeyPDF is a free online tool that adds a text watermark to a PDF — set your own wording, color, size, and position, then download the stamped file. Everything runs in your browser.

A handful of settings, all previewed live before you commit:

1. Choose your file. Drag and drop a PDF, or click to browse for one.
2. Type your watermark text. Confidential,Draft, a company name — whatever fits the document.
3. Style it. Set the color, font size, opacity, and rotation angle.
4. Pick a position. Six placements are available, from centered to any corner.
5. Choose which pages get it. All Pages, or First Page Only.
6. Add the watermark and download. The preview panel shows exactly how it’ll look before you finish.

A watermark that’s too bold gets in the way of reading the document; one that’s too faint doesn’t do its job. Opacity is the setting that matters most here — something in the 30–40% range is usually enough to be clearly visible without making the underlying text hard to read. Rotating the text diagonally, at roughly a 45° angle, is the classic look for a reason: it’s harder to crop out of a screenshot or printed page than a straight horizontal stamp would be.

Position depends on what the watermark is for. A centered mark spanning the page is the standard choice for marking something as confidential or a draft, since it can’t be trimmed away without losing content. A corner placement — bottom right is common — works better when you want a subtler brand mark that doesn’t interfere with reading the page at all.
